The 7000 sq. ft. villa is located in Barshi, a quaint town in Solapur district on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. Exploring this strong cultural context and the need for a response to the hot and arid climate of the area led to the concept of brick cavity panels with patterns inspired from the ‘Solapuri chadars’. The villa is placed centrally on the square plot of 25,000 sq.ft. with peripheral landscape which forms a lush green foreground for the house. Completed in 2018, this villa responds to the climate of the region through elements which have been celebrated as a part of the design.
